Dr. Evangelos Sakkopoulos is an Associate Professor at the Department of Informatics, University of Piraeus, Greece. He holds his Ph.D. from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department, School of Engineering, University of Patras, Greece.

His research interests include personalized software engineering, mobile software, secure identities software, web services software, e-health, e-ID and e-learning. He has more than 60 publications in international journals and conferences at these areas.

He has been a member of the Technology and SPOC specification subgroups as well as the EU Committee of the Article 6 of Regulation (European Commision) 1683/95 laying down the a uniform visa format (including also secure electronic Residense Permits for third country nationals and electronic Passports standards across EU).

He has been technology representative at the European Union (EU) Mobile identification interoperability group (e-Mobidig). e-mobidig.eu.

Since 1997, he has worked, designed, developed and coordinated a number of R&D national and European projects.

He is also participating as an expert in the ISO Working Group 18013-5 for the standardization of the mobile ID.

  • Associate Professor Evangelos Sakkopoulos has received his PhD in 2005 from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department, School of Engineering, University of Patras.

    His research interestes include Personalized Software Engineering, Mobile ID, Mobile Wallet, Software for Identification and Authentication, Web Software and Advanced Software Services. He has got more than 60 publications in international Journals and Conferences on theses topics. He has been participating as an Expert in several Working Groups of ISO on mobile identity interoperabiility standardization such as SC17/WG10, SC17/WG4, as well as in the ad hoc working group for the EU Wallet. He has taught courses and lectures including Personalized Software Engineering, Interoperability for Identification, Microservices and AI, Cloud Software Patterns, Software as a Service and Programming Software techniques. He has also long experience in the coordination, research and development in ICT national, european and international advanced software solution project (i.e. H2020 on identity services, etc).
