Students Act

Students Act is an ideas platform where students can express their views on issues they believe can change and improve their academic careers. These ideas will be able to be implemented in collaboration with University stakeholders and provide a better student experience. Students Act takes place within the framework of the TEDx University of Piraeus, which is taking place for the first time at the University of Piraeus, with the theme “Believe.Act.Change”.

TEDx University of Piraeus

TEDx University of Piraeus is a project of the University of Piraeus in collaboration with the Research Centre. The scientific coordinator is Mr. Thanopoulos.

In the framework of this project, TEDx University of Piraeus is envisioned to be a trigger for action, contribution and positive thinking in the youth community, to establish itself as an institution at the University and to become known in society for its work.

It aims to bring together idealists of humanity, inspiring entrepreneurs, progressive-minded educators and agents of change in society, who will share ideas and experiences and give young people the impetus to develop, share and put their ideas into practice. Our mission is to show the flow of change, “belief-action-change” and to urge young people to the recipe for action.

MUN Society

University of Piraeus Model United Nations Society (UniPi MUN Society) is a student-run, non-profit association based at our University, dedicated to promoting Model United Nations (MUN) and Model European Union (MEU) initiatives, as well as participating in, organizing, and supporting various democratic initiatives, conferences, and events. The Society remains firmly committed to its main vision: the promotion of democracy through the formation of future European and global leaders.

With a proud history spanning over 15 years, we have helped more than 1,000 ambitious young individuals discover their rights as citizens, develop academically and personally, and engage with a unique network of peers. Through our activities, participants have had the opportunity to understand first-hand the democratic processes of international organizations and policymaking, to take on the roles of diplomats, heads of state, and Members of the European Parliament, and to debate pressing global issues and agendas. Our mission is to help young people recognize the importance of active participation in democratic processes, offering them opportunities to travel, interact with peers from diverse countries and backgrounds, and discuss the future of our world. We aim to inspire them to shape the future of the European Union through their innovative ideas, contribute through volunteer work, and—above all—create unique and life-changing experiences.

Over the course of our 15-year presence, we have participated in more than 120 conferences, earning over 260 awards. Among our most notable distinctions are those from Lyon MUN 2020 in Lyon, PIMUN 2023–2025 held in Paris, and EuroMUN 2024 in Maastricht. Most recently, at Rhodes MRC 2025, our delegation proudly received eight awards, including the “Best Committee Chair” award—demonstrating our professionalism and dedication to academic excellence.
