Before the exams
Applications for participation in the exams are submitted only within the time period specified by the University of Piraeus for each exam period.
To be eligible to sit the exams, candidates must be at least 10 years of age by the date of the exams.
Only candidates who have paid the full amount of the exam fees together with their application form are entitled to sit the exams.
Under no circumstances and for no reason whatsoever will the registration fee be refunded once it has been paid.
Under no circumstances may you be replaced by a candidate who has not applied for the competition.
You should note very carefully the level for which you wish to sit the tests.
During the exams
Candidates must be in the exam room at least twenty (20) minutes before the start of each exam and must have with them an official document with a valid photograph (identity card or passport or residence permit) to verify their identity.
Anyone who attempts to deceive by utilising any unauthorised aids or by providing them to a third party, or obstructs the smooth running of the tests, will be disqualified. In this case, the candidate’s performance will not be assessed. Unauthorised aids are considered those objects that are not related to the test material, such as dictionaries, grammar books, and the like.
Technical aids such as mobile phones, small computers or other audio or video recording or reproducing devices may not be brought into the preparation room or the place where the test is held. In the case of mobile phones in particular, they must be switched off and kept inside bags for the duration of the tests.
Failure to comply with these conditions will lead to the candidate’s direct exclusion from the tests. If, after the end of the test, the selection board finds that there are grounds for disqualifying a candidate, it has the right to do so.
After the exams
RESULTS:
To be considered successful in the exams:
Α) In order to be considered successful, candidates must have obtained 60% of the marks for each of at least three modules.
B) If a candidate has failed to obtain the required percentage in only one module, the candidate needs to have a score above 30% in that module.
C) The overall pass mark is above 60%.
D) The overall marks of the candidates who passed the tests are not shown on the certificates with numerical indices but with the symbols: “A+” ( < 90 credits),”A” (80 – 89 credits). “B+” (76 – 79 credits), “B” (70 – 75 credits), “C+” ( 66 – 69 credits) and “C” (60 – 65 credits).
