The European Alliance, with the distinctive title EUonAIR (European University on AI in Curricula, Smart UniverCity and (Return) Mobility), launched in 2017, supports alliances of higher education institutions and is the European Union’s most ambitious project in the field of higher education, since Bologna in 1999.

Among the priorities of the European University Alliance EUonAir is the utilization of Artificial Intelligence as a tool for the creation of a virtual Campus, inclusive and resilient that enables and enhances human mobility, in direct synergy with local communities, Local Government and Civil Society.

The selection of the University of Piraeus, as a full member of the European Alliance, was made among 56 candidates. It constitutes a milestone and contributes decisively to the further upgrading and extroversion of our University, through coordinated joint actions, such as joint academic programs, Open Science, partnerships for knowledge sharing and sharing, mobility, equal access to education, the Green Campus and many other initiatives.

The Academic Coordinator of the project is the Vice-Rector of Academic and Administrative Affairs and Student Welfare, Professor of the Department of International and European Studies, Spyridon Roukanas.
