Athanasios C. Rakitzis is Assistant Professor of Statistics in the Department of Statistics and Insurance Science of the University of Piraeus. His research interests are Statistical Quality Control/Statistical Process Control as well as the applications of run and scan statistics. He served as an Assistant Professor in the University of the Aegean (Department of Statistics and Actuarial-Financial Mathematics) and as a visiting Professor (Lecturer) in the University of Cyprus (Department of Mathematics and Statistics). Also, he worked as a post-doctoral researcher under a Marie Curie Actions Intra-European Fellowship (IEF) in the Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Nantes, in Nantes, France. He has more than 50 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, book chapters and international conference proceedings. His research work has more than 450 citiations while he served as a referee for 27 international peer-review journals.
