The Department of Economics offers the possibility for a Ph.D. degree. The topic of the research should fall within the research interests of the members of the Department and should lead to high quality publications.

Prospective Ph.D. students must contact the Assistant, Associate professor or Professor in the field that the students would like to pursue research and in coordination they develop a research proposal and apply to the Department of Economics.

Duration
Min 3 years, max 6 years. Under special circumstances, there could be an extension of, no longer than, one year.
Language
The Ph.D. candidate is eligible to write the Ph.D. thesis entirely in english, with a greek abstract.
Obligations
Ph.D. candidate students are advised to:
- submit annual reports;
- attend the (majority, if not all) Departmental Research Seminars;
- teach tutorials and supervise exams, upon request;
- participate in research activities of the Department;
- participate in selective M.Sc. courses, offered by the Department of Economics upon agreement with the supervisor;
- attend international quality conferences;
- submit their Ph.D. chapters for publication.
Failure to comply with the aforementioned rules could result in significant delay in the completion of the Ph.D. process or even dispel from the Programme.
