Konstantinos Konstantakis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Piraeus. He holds a Diploma from the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences (SEMFE) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), specialising in Statistics and Informatics, and an MSc in Economics from the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). In 2016, he was awarded a PhD in Economics by SEMFE/NTUA.

He has taught in various academic positions, including as an Assistant Professor (407/80), contracted lecturer, university fellow, and member of teaching staff at SEMFE/NTUA, the Hellenic Air Force Academy, the National School of Public Administration of Panteion University, and the Hellenic Open University. He has also been a postdoctoral researcher at SEMFE/NTUA and the Athens University of Economics and Business, and has participated as a researcher in two European H2020 projects.

In research terms, he ranks among the most productive economists worldwide over the past decade (approximately in the top 9%, IDEAS, February 2026) and has around 120 publications in international journals, edited volumes, working paper series, international scientific conferences, as well as reports and policy briefs.
