  • O Μιχαήλ Πολέμης είναι Επίκουρος Καθηγητής Βιομηχανικής Οικονομικής στο Τμήμα Οικονομικής Επιστήμης του Πανεπιστημίου Πειραιώς και μέλος στην Επιτροπή Ανταγωνισμού από τον Απρίλιο 2017. Είναι κάτοχος διδακτορικού διπλώματος στα οικονομικά από το Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών του έλαβε υποτροφίες βαθμολογικής επίδοσης από το Ίδρυμα Κρατικών Υποτροφιών (Ι.Κ.Υ), και από το Εθνικό και Καποδιστριακό Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Τα τελευταία δέκα έτη απασχολήθηκε στην Επιτροπή Ανταγωνισμού αρχικά ως ειδικός επιστήμονας-οικονομολόγος και στη συνέχεια ως Προϊστάμενος Τμήματος Οικονομικής Τεκμηρίωσης. Προηγουμένως, είχε εργασθεί ως σύμβουλος ανάπτυξης ευρύτερου δημόσιου τομέα στην εταιρεία Temagon (νυν OTE Consulting). Διαθέτει σημαντική ερευνητική εμπειρία, καθώς επί τέσσερα έτη απασχολήθηκε στο Ίδρυμα Οικονομικών και Βιομηχανικών Ερευνών (Ι.Ο.Β.Ε) αρχικά ως ερευνητικός συνεργάτης και στη συνέχεια ως επικεφαλής τμήματος κλαδικών μελετών της μονάδας βιομηχανικής οργάνωσης. Τα κυριότερα ακαδημαϊκά και ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζονται στη βιομηχανική οργάνωση, την πολιτική ανταγωνισμού, τη ρυθμιστική πολιτική, την εφαρμοσμένη οικονομική πολιτική και τα οικονομικά της ενέργειας και του περιβάλλοντος. Διαθέτει σημαντική συγγραφική δραστηριότητα, καθώς έχει δημοσιεύσει ερευνητικές εργασίες σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά, όπως το Economics Letters, Energy Economics, The Energy Journal, International Business Review, Empirical Economics, Economic Modelling, Journal of Industry, Competition and Trade, Applied Economics, Energy Policy, International Review of Applied Economics καθώς και σε συλλογικούς τόμους. Παράλληλα, είναι ακαδημαϊκός κριτής σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά.. Τέλος, συμμετέχει σε επιστημονικά συνέδρια στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό.
