| The Rector represents the University, holds the Rector’ s Council and the Senate, the electorate for the election of a Department’s Chairman and issues the appointment acts, with regard to the University staff. The rector is assisted by two Vice-Rectors, the Vice-Rector for Financial Planning and Development and the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Staff, who exercise the duties assigned to each one of them by the Rector’s Council.
II) The University’s General Secretary, is responsible for the administrative supervision and co-ordination between the administrative, financial and technical departments of the institution, as well aw for their smooth operation, within the framework of the relevant resolutions and directions of the Senate, the Rector’ s Council and the Rector of the Institution.
