Department of Informatics>Description of the Department

The Department began operating in 1992 and focuses on both theoretical and practical aspects and advancements of computer science. The course lasts eight semesters. From the third semester the students may optionally attend certain courses offered by other University Departments so that they can expand their knowledge to related scientific areas. Each course focuses epually on theory and on practical works carried our by students in the department’s modern laboratories.

Apart from the Central University Library, the students of the Department can also use the departmental library, which has specialized journals and books on various areas of computer science. In addition, all students have access to the Internet.

The Department participates in an inter – university, inter – departmental postgraduate course titled “Health Services Administration –Health Informatics”.
